The signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Vietnam Climate Innovation Center (VCIC) and International Trade of Korea Technology Association (ITKT) was held on November, 5th, 2017 in Hanoi, Vietnam. The ceremony chaired by Mr. Pham Duc Nghiem – Deputy Head of General Department – NATEC cum VCIC PMU Director had discussion about cooperation to promote investment and commercialize technology/technology products between South Korea and Vietnam.

Mr. Lee Beom Jae – Chairman of I.T.K.T participated in the signing ceremony. He was also Former CEO of Samsung Korea, Economic adviser of South Korea's current president, President of the 40-year Ajou’s Alumni Association with 100,000 members and 10,000 Korean CEOs, Former President of Solidarity for Peace and Reunification of Korea, Chairman of Korea Businesses and Entrepreneurs Association. The ceremony was also attended by CEOs of South Korean companies in the field of advanced LED manufacturing, processing of agricultural products into functional food, health care and some other strength fields.

In the ceremony, both sides discussed the opportunities for extensive cooperation in the priority fields mentioned by focusing on promoting investment linkage, transfering knowledge, coordinating to organize innovation events, linking supply and demand, connecting enterprises between Vietnam and South Korea, and building and developing Vietnam - Korea technology trading platform.

In particular, Mr. Kim Pyeong Seop – Principal Research Engineer from SNK Technologies Co., Ltd demonstrated the leading technology of mobile body scanner from South Korea, enabling every person to have a health check of whole body at home within 10 minutes, and concurrently store and synchronize diagnosis on the patient data system online. The system is connected with experts, leading doctors to provide appropriate ideas and treatment based on the data of each patient.

The system mentioned above is just one of many achievement of advanced technologies in South Korea, which, according to VCIC's experts, is practical, commercially viable and highly successful in Vietnam. In addition, through various forms of investment cooperation such as EPC contractor, joint venture companies, investment funds, South Korean enterprises are ready to seek partners for implementing specific projects in Vietnam.

MOU between VCIC and ITKT is a stepping-stone to actualize the efforts to improve the quality of technology, especially advanced technologies with high content and low cost in Vietnam, promising to bring more opportunities to investment cooperationbetween Korean and Vietnamese businesses. In particular,  VCIC plays a role as a bridge to help Vietnamese businesses seek, screen, connect, transfer, and call for investment from Korea.

VCIC, under the auspices of the Ministry of Science and Technology, is responsible for promoting the development of domestic science and technology markets, with priority given to solar energy, energy efficiency, water management and filtering.
