OGC STANDARD APPLICATION FOR BUILDING INFORMATION SYSTEM OF CLIMATE CHANGE, NATURAL RESOURCES AND MONITORING CALAMITY.

Currently in Vietnam, most of the information systems on Climate Change, Natural Resources, Natural Disasters are arbitrarily built without following the standards of data structure, data organization, data services. This led to stand-alone, non-reusable, interconnected systems with other systems to create a National Data Network on Climate Change, Environmental Resources and Natural Disasters.

In the world, this happened and completely solved by OGC (Open Geospatial Consortium) with members of big companies in fields such as NASA, USGS, Google, Oracle, Airbus, Bently, NOAA (http://www.opengeospatial.org/ogc/members). These members contributed money and effort to work together with OGC to develop standards for information on climate change, natural resources and natural disasters.

Therefore, an important task is to unify and bring these information standards into use to build Vietnam's information system, thereby connecting with information systems on global climate change.

Therefore, in the hopeness of fulfilling the assigned tasks, VCIC and FIMO co-organized the Workshop  "OGC STANDARD APPLICATION FOR BUILDING INFORMATION SYSTEM ON CLIMATE CHANGE, NATURAL RESOURCES, MONITORING CALAMITY" in February 23 - 24th, 2017.
