On Nov 27th, 2017, in Hanoi, Representatives of Project Management Unit “Vietnam Climate Innovation Center (VCIC)” and Daegu Technopark, South Korea have signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), aiming to accelerate technology commercialization, enterprise growth, advance technology development, and technical cooperation between Korea and Vietnam.
Since the date of establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries (1992), the friendly relations between Vietnam and Korea have been upgraded into strategic cooperation partnership and are constantly evolving in many aspects, especially in the fields of investment - trade and science – technology. More than 5,000 Korean businesses have invested in Vietnam with total investment estimated at $ 55 billion in 2017. Meanwhile, scientific and technological cooperation between the two countries has experienced a profound development with a number of signed cooperation documents from the Ministry level to the unit ones. Those documents comprise many agreements related to high technology, technology research and development, nuclear energy, quality measurement standards, innovation, statistical information, science and technology communications.

Daegu Technopark, which was established in 1998, keeps the main function of supporting business incubation, promoting commercialization of technology, supporting research and product improvement, and connecting network of experts. More than 250 companies have operated in the areas of nanotechnology, biomedicine, renewable energy, eco-friendly products, water and air purification, etc.
The units supported by VCIC, through the cooperation with Deagu Technology, have chance to access to leading technologies, technical support from Korean experts as well as programs and policies that promote commercialization of technological products to develop enterprises and expand the international market.
