On February 18, 2020, the PMU of the Vietnam Climate Innovation Center - VCIC and Vietnam - Korea Business and Investment Association (VKBIA) signed a memorandum of understanding cooperation on investing and promoting science and technology between Vietnam - Korea businesses in the coming time, especially green technology development, innovation and adaptation to climate change.
Attending and presiding over the signing ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Van Tung - New Ambassador of Vietnam in Korea and Mr. Pham Duc Nghiem - Deputy Director of National Agency for Technology Entrepreneurship and Commercialization Development, Ministry of Science and Technology, Director of VCIC Project Management Unit.
On the side of VCIC, there was Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Hang - Deputy Head of Department, Economic and Environment Association, Mr. Nguyen Van Hung Chief of VCIC Office.
From VKBIA, there were Mr. Hong Sun - Permanent Vice Chairman of Korean Business Association in Vietnam (Korchan), Mr. Tran Hai Linh - Member of Central Committee of Vietnam Fatherland Front, President VKBIA, Mr. Steve Bui - Vice President - VKBIA Advisory Board - Chairman of Delta E&C Company, Ms. KimSeon Mi - Vice Chairman of VKBIA - General Director of HanveModu Company (Korea), Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Hang - Vice President of VKBIA, Chairman of MH Group Joint Stock Company.
This Memorandum of Understanding is an opportunity for Vietnamese businesses in the field of green technology supported by VCIC to have many opportunities to connect trade, services, investment and technology transfer with Korean partners. VKBIA will be a bridge to support the organization of investment promotion conferences to strongly promote science and technology markets between the two countries.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Vu Tung, New Vietnamese Ambassador to Korea, said the line of the 13th Party Congress clearly stated "foreign affairs for the benefit of the people and businesses." Therefore, this cooperation is on the right track for each specific project. The New Ambassador said that the Vietnam - Korea partnership on the basis of trust is very important and with the new position, the Ambassador will accompany with the determination of action of VCIC and VKBIA.
At the ceremony, Mr. Pham Duc Nghiem, - Deputy Director of National Agency for Technology Entrepreneurship and Commercialization Development, Ministry of Science and Technology, Director of VCIC, said: “Vietnam's creative growth rate has always been 5-10 level higher/year, especially in 2019, Vietnam has broken through 12 levels. Korea is a partner that is always given priority by Vietnam because of many similarities with Vietnam: in terms of policies, people, geopolitics ... VKBIA is a bridge model in great need and VCIC is ready to accompany with VKBIA to support Vietnamese businesses to connect with Korean businesses effectively on the basis of trust, because before trading, businesses have built close partnerships such as brother"
At the end of the ceremony, the two sides expressed their desire to maintain long-term cooperation and work together to help the country grow. Representatives of the two parties shake hands to show their unanimous determination to help the science and technology market in Vietnam grow rapidly, aiming to improve the innovation index and rise to the first position in the world and create many ideas of eco-friendly science and technology products to help the country adapt to the current climate change situation.
